What it is

A community initiative to bring Meshtastic to Japan, starting in Fukuoka. LoRa, Rust, and a focus on off-grid messaging that doesn’t depend on cellular infrastructure.

Why

Japan has natural-disaster scenarios where cellular and Wi-Fi go down. Meshtastic — already mature outside Japan — fills that gap with cheap LoRa hardware and a local mesh. offlinesns is the JP-localized stack and the community organizing around it.

Status

Active. Meetups + hardware experiments running out of Fukuoka.
